Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service provides a 24 hour response to incidents on our roads from 22 fire stations strategically located across the County.

In the last year we attended around 600 Road Traffic Collisions, (RTCs), many of which required us to free people trapped in vehicles. Historically the Fire and Rescue Service's contribution to the accident reduction agenda has not matched that of other agencies, but we are actively seeking to change that. For example, we are taking a lead on developing a hard-hitting RTC Reduction Roadshow aimed at potential, new and inexperienced young drivers. For the first time in the Service's history, our community fire education and prevention activities helped us achieve the fabulous result of zero accidental fire deaths, and a 20% reduction in fire injuries, in the County last year. It is our intention to replicate that success in respect of road crashes.
