Northamptonshire County Council Road Safety Department has been part of the Casualty Reduction Partnership since its conception. Working alongside the other partners we provide education, training and publicity in all aspects of Road Safety for the local community.

Concentrating on our main target groups we have raised awareness within companies and organisations of the need for driver training both for and to work. We are offering training days for pre-drivers, young drivers and motorcyclists in an effort to reduce the number of casualties in these groups. We also provide training for teachers and run a very successful Junior Road Safety Officer scheme for young children within their own schools.

The merger between Road Safety and the Casualty Reduction has produced a team which is able to cover projects with a seamless co-ordinated approach through education, engineering and data collection with help from our partners, within Northamptonshire Police, when enforcement is necessary.
